The Son of Neptune

This book was a fun read it has a lot of action in it, it would qualify under the adventure genre because this book was a bout them going on a quest. This book was the newest book in the Percy Jackson. series. The main characters in this book are Percy Jackson, Nico Di Angelo and Hazel Levauseque. If you like a book with a lot of action and adventure this would be a good book to read. If ancient Roman and Greek civilizations fascinate you this would also be a good book for you. This book takes place mostly in Alaska. They are there to retrieve a staff that has been lost for centuries. This book is all about them trying to retrieve the staff and their battles along the way. They run into many difficulties a long the way read the book to find out all about there adventures. This book will kep you on your toes the whole time you read it when you set it down all you do is wonder what is going to happen next if you don't want to fall asleep while reading I would reccomend this book to you.

Seeds of Hope

Seeds of hope is a very interesting story about two young girls who plan to go to Oregon to start over on life and just have a new beginning. However, plans change. Their father decides to change destinations on where they are going. He starts to get gold rush fever. Along with everybody else. So the family stops their journey to Oregon short. The two girls and their father start to start to start an unexpected life in a different land than originally planned. They have to learn and trust one another to succeed in this change of plans. I would really recommend this certain book for those people who enjoy historical fictions. It is also a diary so if you like those two topics you would enjoy this book. I normally do not like historical fictions, but this book was actually pretty neat I thought. In the book it says "I was amazed at the power of that one word, gold." In this book that quote is really true. All it takes is that one little word and everybody and everything is silent to find out where that gold is. They have gold fever.

The theme of this book was great. It explained a life lesson. You should make the best out of everything. Even if plans change (or something like that,) it's not the end of the world. Be optimistic about it. That's the best way to deal with anything. That is what I think the theme of this book is. It was great!!

Chains

The year is 1774 and while the king is in England living off the taxes of innocent people and a piping hot bowl of greed, only a handful of people are loyal to him and agree with what he is doing. Those people are known as the loyalists. The other ninety nine handfuls are against the things he has done and how they have treated them. The group of ninety nine handfuls have formed a strong union, the revolutionary rebels. But unfortunately the Americans are up nose to nose against the most powerful army in the world. The war will change American history forever. But for now it is up to Isabel to transfer vital information to the rebels by spying on her loyalist owners.
It definitely was not my favorite book.  I do not like to read historical fiction books, simply because they do not interest me. However I will say that out of all the books in that genre, that I have read, Chains was definatly my favorite  I really liked the characters in the book and the message that it was trying to get across. The message that I recieved was that you should treat people as you would want to be treated because they are just as capable as you. The message might also be to give everyone a chance and see what their worth is. Because what they can do might surprise you.

Ruined

"Lisette dragged Rebecca into the road, because cars were easier to avoid than people. Some ghosts were easy to spot, like the woman with dark ringlets wearing a flowing blue ball gown, picking her way back and forth across Royal Street, gazing up at a flower-bedecked balcony." -Paula Morris

Ruined is about a girl named Rebecca. She has to move to New Orleans from New York for a year because her dad has to go to China. When she gets there she is a little skeptical about things and how everything is going to play out. One day walking home from school she meets a friend named Lisette. But finds out she is something that could really change her life. Later on she meets other new friends that she thought could last forever but later on with finding things about her past, things just fall down hill for her. Rebecca is trying to jump for some conclusions. She looses trust from a lot of people and has no one else to turn to. So in the end does everything work out for her?
All of the characters are a little spooky. They all have a secret that really does change her opinion on people. They all get along at first, but it as she finds out what is really going on in the family history, all of the characters change and Rebecca finds it hard to trust them.
I thought the book was good. I think you really have to love romantic books to like this one. It also has a little bit of action in it and that is what I liked about it. This book would be good for people that like that sort of spooky love story feel. So if you are really into that stuff, I think you should read it :)
