The Lion the Witch & the Wardrobe
By C.S Lewis
Imagine if you had to leave your home and go live with an uncle you have never even met.
Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy are sent to live with there uncle in the country side where its safer. One day the kids hear a tour guide coming and try to hide from her. In the struggle to hide, they find a wardrobe. they rush in inside it and find that it leads to another world trapped in an eternal winter. One of Lucy's friends goes missing and in the process to try and find Lucys friend Edmund runs away.
I remember when I was little I used to pretend that i could go into another world with  my imaginary friends and play, but in this book they actually go to another world and Ive always been jealous of that.
My favorite quote in the book is, "Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight,at the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more, When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death, and when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again."  You have to really read the book to get this quote.
I would really recommend this book to anyone, there still is a few bigger words but once you get past that its one of my most favorite books. I would give it a 15 out of 10.

Ordinary Boy

Ordinary Boy
William Boniface

Imagine if you lived in a place where every citizen was a superhero. That is... except for you! Everyone in Superopolis is super and gets there name based on what they can do or what their power is. Hints the name our main character received. His name is Ordinary Boy because he simply has no power.

In Superopolis, like any normal super hero town, there is super heroes and super villains. The band of heroes that protects the city is known as the league of ultimate goodness and the greatest hero in the world, The Amazing Indestructo runs the town and the league. AI is big and tough, he has very wavy hair that is dark brown, he wears and all blue spandex suit with a white star in the middle, he is indestructible and really strong, he is tall and muscular. He has an arch nemesis named professor Brain Drain and he is always causing trouble around town. Ordinary Boy goes to school with the rest of the super kids. He is pretty tall for his age but he is very skinny, he has white skin and red hair that flows to the side, he has kind of a square type face and he wears ordinary human clothes.  His teacher is miss marble, she can freeze her students and make them shh. Ordinary Boy and his friends have a club called the Junior Leaguers. They gather in a treehouse in one of the members, Stench, backyard. Stench is OB's best friend and he is almost twice the size of him, He is very muscular and always protects OB, He wears a military vest and tan jeans that are tight on the legs. The bad part about stench is in his name, he comes with a horrible odor that fumes from time to time. One of the biggest companies if not the biggest company in superopolis is Indestructo Industries and they are always doing little games and drawings for a chance to win big prizes. The catch is there is only a very slight chance of victory. The most recent game put together by Indestructo Industries is the 64 card super hero collector pack. If you collect them all you can win ten thousand dollars. Like all of the other games there is a trick to this treat. There is only 3 copies of the last card in all of superopolis and the Junior Leaguers have their mind set on finding it. They have collected all of the other cards and the last card is almost impossible to find. The young crusades find out about this little scheme and go straight to the source. They go to the president of indestructo industries.  He gives them hints on how to find them. The rest of the book is about them following clues and finding 2 out of 3 cards but someone keeps swiping them. Finally they find the third one and win the money the president is forced to swear to never do anything like this again. One quote from the book is from OB he says, "Stench!! Your odor is clogging my nostrils."
I read this book last year and i think it was good at the time. I would mostly recommend this book for younger kids like elementary students. I think younger kids would really enjoy this book because young kids usually are the ones obsessed with superheroes.

I read the book Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins. It's a book filled with adventure about a boy who accidentally falls down a drain in the laundry room of his apartment building. His sister is looking for trouble until she falls down as well! It's a long drop and their are currents so they don't splat when they hit the ground. When they arrive, the first creature they meet just happens to be a giant cockroach.

Gregor is stuck down there with these people called the Underlanders with silvery-shiny hair, bright violet eyes, and their ghost white skin. Gregor is lost in their city and is trying to find his way out, but the only way is too terrible for him to imagine. The people of this city ride giant bats and are enemies with giant rats, trying to completely obliterate the race of humans forever. Luxa, the princess of the Underland, Gregor, Boots, his two year old sister, and Vikus, an old man who is on the council of Regalia, their glorious stone city embark on a journey not only for Gregor and Boots to get out, but to find a long lost relative that will change the way Gregor feels about the Underland forever.

Gregor isn't exactly enthusiastic about doing this "quest" sort of thing. Even in the book it says that there's a prophecy about him doing this. They call him "the warrior." Gregor's not very giddy about all this. It even says in the book,

"I don't know about this destiny thing. I mean, my dad and Boots and I . . . we all have the same laundry room, and we landed somewhere pretty close to you, so I'm thinking it's more of a coincidence. I'd like to help, but you guys are gonna have to wait a little longer for your warrior."

This awesome mystery/adventure novel is packed with suspenseful endings of chapters, awesome action, and quite a few laughs as you read this outstanding book. I highly recommend it and would probably give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

makeover

 MAKEOVER
by: Shannon Guyman

After being dumped, in the middle of the Salt Lake Airport, by the guy of her dreams Sophie Reid is all but happy.  But after a late night discussion with her best friend Jacie she realizes how much Blake isn't the man of her dreams, once she realizes how much she wants revenge she becomes determined to be as happy as ever and make him sick with regret.  She decides to throw herself back into the daring game of dating.  But even after deciding to be happy she still is facing major problems such as, her all but nice relatives.  Her father split up with her mother when she was eleven creating an immense hate of her new step mother Julie, even though Julie never did anything to hurt Sophie, unlike the rest of her aunts uncles and cousins, they tormented her and pulled her and her mom down as much as they could they attacked her clothes, her job, ( working as a hair stylist at her moms salon) and the fact that her mom raised her all by herself.  One Sunday after being ridiculed about being dumped and not having anyone who liked her or thought she was beautiful she got the courage up and simply said she was leaving thats when she met Sam.  Sam is Julie's nephew and Julie mentioned to Sophie earlier that day that she wanted Sophie to meet Sam.   Sophie was dreading this until she actually meets Sam, as she leaves her grandmothers home her step mom stops her and introduces her to Sam, a drop dead gorgeous and kind guy.  She then has a new dilemma to face ever since she decided to get back to dating her best friend Jacie wanted her to go out with her good friend Paul, a kind new lawyer, she has to decide whether she wants Sam a super kind cute guy whom she thinks she is starting to love but has a psychotic ex- girlfriend who just wont let go of him, or Paul, a nice and cute guy who Sophie just likes as a friend.  Which guy do you think that Sophie is best for and which guy is really going to be happiest with?
I really enjoyed this book because its light and happy.  I enjoy books like this because they don't stress me out. Since I get really into books when I read them I enjoy light and happy.  Sohpie is a lot like me she is determined to be happy but life still keeps throwing challenges at her.
"You can come to me for anything, and you know I'll do whatever I can to help you." This is said by Sophie's step dad after she got attacked by Tess Sam's ex-girlfreind, i like this because it shows the immense difference between Sophie's dad and her sep dad, proving that not all step-parents are cruel and mean.
I would recommend this book to anyone, ok not most guys are going to enjoy this since it's a romance but still it's a great book and i really enjoyed it!!

Rangers Apprentice book 1 Ruins of Gorlan

Rangers Apprentice by John Flanagan is a great series and this book helps start it out very well. Rangers apprentice is an action adventure book with many great twists and turns that will keep you wanting more and more.

Rangers Apprentice is about a orphan boy named Will and his adventure in the rangers corps. He and his friends live in the ward together then one day they are chosen by craft masters and Will is chosen as a rangers apprentice.  Will begins his training as a ranger but his ward mate Horace is having a harder time with the training because of bullies. Will then goes on a mission with Halt and Gillian to the ruins of Gorlan to hunt the kallakara.

I would be so scared if I met the kallakara like Will. Alyss is very sweet and she is also very formal which makes her a good diplomat. Horace is very mean at first but turns out to be very loyal to his friends. And Will is very mischievous he loves to climb and he is very silent he uses these abilities to  be a good rangers apprentice.

My favorite quote is "Never let people get too close to you If they try to be on your guard no matter who they are or how friendly you think they are"I like this quote because it shows how serious rangers are.

I really loved this book it was very fun to read because I love adventure and action and this has a helping of it. It's a good read and I recommend this to everybody.

The Fault in our Stars if one of the most heart felt, cute little love stories ever!  Hazel is a teenage girl who suffers with stage four thyroid cancer and metastasis which has spread to her lungs.  Hazel is always very sick and her mom is always right by her.  Her mom wants her to be like a regular teenage girl so she signs her up for a Support Group.  Hazel hates support group.  But one day, she met Augutsas Waters. Hazel and Gus started to form a strong relationship.  And the story is all about their relationship and all the adventures that they have together.

I really enjoyed this book!  It was one of my favorite, and it was really heart felt and sad.  I recommend this book to mostly teens and parents.  I fell like this is definitely more of a girls book.

I really liked the book.  And I thought that it was a really good idea having a happy book about cancer because we don't have enough of those.  John Green also went into great details about the characters, it made it feel like I was right there watching them the whole time.  Mrs. Lancaster (Hazels mom), reminds me a lot of my mom.  My mom is always there for me and would help me no matter what!

"Maybe 'okay' will be our always."  That is my favorite quote from The Fault in our Stars.  It is very simple but very meaningful.  The quote just sums up Gus' and Hazels relationship perfectly.  Okay was their word that they would always have.  What ever was going on in the story it was always gonna be "okay".

Daniel X
by James Patterson

"I wish that I didn't sometimes, but I remember everything about that cursed, unspeakably unhappy night 12 years ago, when I was 3 years old and both of my parents were murdered."
That is the first line in Daniel X. Daniel X is about a boy with the power to create. Because his parents were killed he has nowhere to live so he can create a home for himself. He likes to bring back his mom, dad, sister and friends so that he is not alone all of the time. He got the powers from his mom and dad who were alien hunters. They died when Daniel was very young and he watched the who thing. They were killed by the most powerful alien, Number One. That is the meaning of his life. He has to avenge his parents. Even if he dies trying. He goes through many planets and he is now in charge of killing the rest of the bad aliens. He wants to avenge his parents death by killing Number One, but can he?
In this book you will find action and adventure. With the help of his friends, He can over come anything. This is a really great book. It is by far the best book that i have ever read and i recommend this book to people who don't read books unless they are very well written. i hope that you enjoy this book as much as i did.

The Hunger Games
by Suzanne Collins

How would you feel if you were put in an arena with other people ages 12 or 18. You had to kill off each other to win... You could even put in the arena with your best friend. Or even your lover.

Well thats what the Hunger Games is all about. Katniss Everdeen from district 12, is the in the district of coal miners. She has a sister, primrose and her mother. Here dad died in a coal explosion while mining. Every Year Panem does a does a drawing from every district (there are 12 district), one boy and one girl. They have to either be 12 to18 years of age. Whoever gets picked has to go with 23 other people in an arena and fight till the death.

I can make a connection to the book when they fight to the death to win, its kind of like when I fight with my brothers and sisters. At the dinner table we always fight for the best food on the table, and like the Hunger Games whoever wins gets the prize. Or the best food.

This book was amazing, it made me wonder what was going to happen next in the book after every chapter. I loved how this book was put together, and the storyline was really good. I recommend this book to everyone. Its super fun to read!!!

"And may the odds be ever in your favor". This quote is said in the book enough times in the book to know the meaning. What it means to me is we hope you win and good luck. It it said at the end of the reaping.

The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner
by James Dashner

How would you feel if you woke up in a strange place where you didn’t know anything except your name? You think you had a family and friends at some point, but you can’t remember any faces, names, or concrete experiences. This is the plight of Thomas, the main character in James Dashner’s The Maze Runner.
In The Maze Runner, James Dashner tells the story of Thomas, a boy in his late teens, who finds himself in a odd new world called the Glade, inhabited by a group of male teenagers. They rest of the boys don’t remember anything more than Thomas does, but they all know they must somehow escape the Glade. However, in order to escape, they must get through an ever-changing maze, filled with bloodthirsty monsters. Simple enough.
James Dashner did a very good job of creating believable characters in this book. For example, Thomas is a generally sad young man, so most of his thoughts were negative. The other characters in The Maze Runner are also very well developed. As I read, I often began to think of the characters as real people. For example, Newt takes on the role of leader in the Glade. We see him as being levelheaded, and one who takes charge of chaotic situations.
The overall theme of The Maze Runner is to never give up, no matter how hopeless the situation may seem. They use many interesting terms in the book, that don't exist really. Like "shuck" is a word they made up, not really knowing what it means exactly. "You are the shuckiest shuck-face in the whole shuck world!"-Minho.  In the book, the boys have been trying to solve the puzzle of the maze for over a year, without any luck. But they keep on trying, and with persistence and teamwork, they are eventually able to find a way out.
The setting of the novel is some futuristic time period in a place known as the Glade. The Glade consists of hilly grassland, about 100 by 100 acres, with a small forest in one corner. In the middle of the Glade is a sloppily built house where all of the boys live. Surrounding this is the Maze, which shifts and changes everyday, and seems to be almost infinite.
I’m not sure if there is another novel quite like this one, but it is a very cool dystopian book. If you like to imagine the possibilities of our future world, then you will love this book. I loved The Maze Runner because it was mysterious, full of action, and a little bit humorous, which are my three favorite qualities in fiction. If you liked Divergent, The Hunger Games, or other futuristic dystopian novels, you will enjoy The Maze Runner.
